Effective June 16th, 2008, Miguel Contreras has been selected to assume the position of President of the Dominican American Business Chamber of Commerce of Georgia.

Mr. Contreras served as Economic Development Director of the Dominican American Business Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of the outgoing President, Mr. Fernando Ramirez.

Mr. Contreras is a native of the Dominican Republic and has two Bachelor degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the Central East University.  He also has a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Technology of Santo Domingo. He has over 25 years of business experience.  He served as Chief Operating Officer for Leche Fresca Company and as General Manager of a construction development company before he relocated to the United States. He is an expert in project research, operation development, business organization, bank negotiation, and sales strategies. Currently, Mr. Contreras is working with Canvas Realty, a Real Estate company that specializes in the commercialization of residential and commercial properties.

While living in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Contreras was a member of the Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce, the Herrera Industrial Zone Association, the Dominican Association of Dairy Products (ADIL), the Dominican Republic Cheese Processing Association.  He was co-founder of the Dominican Association of Aquatic Sports (ADDA), and a member of the Dominican Federation of Aquatic Sports, institution organizer of the 2003 Pan-American Games.

The Dominican American Business Chamber of Commerce of Georgia (DACC) was established in 2005, as a chapter of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GHCC), and under the auspices of the Dominican International Association of Georgia (DIA). 

The mission of the DACC is to serve as a commercial network among Georgia business organizations and Dominican business owners.  DACC works in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Dominican Export Association, the Dominican Republic Department of Tourism, the Dominican Republic Telecommunication Department, and the Dominican International Association of Georgia.

Mr. Contreras background and solid reputation brings resources and talent to the Dominican American Business Chamber of Commerce to accomplish its goals and mission.
