Duties of the
intern: Interns are responsible for a main project that will
increase or improve the services of the GHCC. These projects
may relate to internal or external operations, and are
assigned according to the needs and requirements of the
Chamber and the intern. Duties will also consist of clerical
work that arises daily. A 10 hour per week minimum commitment
is expected. Desired Qualifications: Bilingual students
(Spanish/English), open-minded, achievement-oriented with
demonstrated leadership skills, an interest in business,
attendance at a college or university, self-motivated and
independent.
Application Deadline: All
prospective interns should contact the Chamber in order to
schedule an interview.
Winter Interns: We begin
accepting resumes during the Fall semester for a Winter
semester internship. The deadline to apply is the first
Tuesday in November. We will schedule all interviews prior to
the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will notify accepted candidates
during the first week of December.
Summer Interns: The deadline for
sending in your resume for a Summer internship is the last
week of March. All interviews will take place during the first
week and a half of April. Students will be notified of
acceptance prior to the end of April.
Fall Interns: The deadline for
sending in your information for a Fall internship will be the
last week of July. We will conduct interviews during the first
week of August, and will notify accepted candidates by the
middle of August.
We would like all interns to have
a half-day orientation prior to the start of their internship,
in order to further familiarize themselves with our staff, and
the workings of the Chamber.
Payment: As the Chamber is a
non-profit organization, there is no compensation for interns.
All expenses incurred while working for GHCC are reimbursed.
The Governor's Intern Program provides some support for
qualifying students. You may be able to receive credit for
your internship hours through your institution of learning.
To arrange an interview, please
fax your resume to (404) 929 - 9908.
