Each year, the GHCC holds an annual expo where businesses can discuss and show their products and services. 

 

Each year, approximately 500 people attend with 50-60 booths exhibiting. The annual summit provides an opportunity for the members to hear from the industry experts on a wide range of business workshops and seminars. 

 

The GHCC has partnered with the Small Business Administration Small Business Development Center of Kennesaw State University to bring workshops in the morning on a wide range of business topics.  Each year, our featured business leader speakers attract about 300 attendees.  This year, our speakers are:

Ricardo González

CEO & Founder, Bilingual America

“The Intersect between Cultural Leadership and Business Growth”

 

Ricardo Gonzalez is the founder and CEO of Bilingual America. He developed Bilingual America’s courses, including Success with Hispanics, Líderes Exitosos (Successful Leaders), Spanish Power, and Inglés Poderoso, among others.

 

Ricardo speaks internationally on organizational culture and Latino / non-Latino business relations. He is a founding member of The Speakers Guild of America, a professional member of the National Speakers Association and a speaker for LeadercastNow.

 

He is author of “The 12 Hidden Truths to Learning Spanish” and his newest book, scheduled for release in 2017 is titled, “The Six Stages of Cultural Mastery.”

 

Ricardo also serves on the board of the Home Industry Leadership Board sponsored by HomeAdvisor as well as the Advisory Board for the Hispanic Corporate Council of Atlanta. He is or has been a consultant to National Roofing Contractors Association, National Kitchen and Bath Association, The Coca-Cola Company, Georgia Pacific, Hanes, Home Advisor, Cricket Wireless, Owens Corning, Certainteed, The Atlanta Braves, Gingrich Communications, Smithfield Foods, Kimberly-Clark, Brighthouse Networks, Alllied Building Products, SRS Distribution and many others.

 

Ricardo has undergraduate degrees in theology and communications. He also has Masters Level training in counseling.

 

He comes from a bilingual, bicultural family. His father was one of 27 children from Puerto Rico and his mother was an orphan from the hills of Kentucky. He jokingly calls himself a Puerto Rican Hillbilly. Out of his life story comes his desire to help individuals and organizations develop healthy cross-cultural relationships that maximize and leverage relationships for the common good.

 

Ricardo is married to Maribel and has three children: Gabriel, Andrea and Marí Andrea.

Kofi Smith

Executive Director, Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation

“Hartsfield-Jackson – A Multi-Billion Dollar Economic Driver”

 

Kofi Smith is the Executive Director of the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation, which is responsible for managing more than $150M in average annual spend and approximately 7.1 million square feet of facility operations for the world’s most traveled airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. 

 

In 2011 at the age of 35, Kofi was promoted to Executive Director becoming the youngest person to hold this position since the corporation’s inception back in 1979.  In 2012, Kofi was named to the Atlanta Business League’s 2012 Men of Influence.  In 2014, Kofi was named one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40-Under-40. 

In 2015, Kofi was named one of the Georgia Trend’s 40-under-40, while also becoming a graduate of the 2015 Class of Leadership Atlanta.   Kofi has both his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering and his Executive MBA in Global Business from the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

 

In 2015, Kofi began his matriculation at the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University where he is currently pursuing his Executive Doctorate degree in Business. Kofi has served on a research panel in Washington, DC evaluating the airline and airport industries under the Airport Cooperative Research Program of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and National Academies He currently serves on the national board for the National Black Child Development Institute as the Board’s Second Vice-Chair and also sits on the Children’s Sports Network Corporate Board for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation. 

 

Kofi, his wife Nicole and their son (Kole) are members of Buckhead Church and reside in Lithonia Georgia.

Michael A. Pitcher serves as president and CEO of LeasePlan. In this role, Michael is responsible for leading
one of the nation’s largest vehicle management companies. His responsibilities include the corporate fleet division and truck division, as well as finance, human resources and IT. Under Michael’s leadership, LeasePlan USA has been recognized as a top workplace for its Atlanta and Chicago locations every year since 2010.
