LATINO PROSPERITY AND POLICY CONFERENCE | OCTOBER 14TH, 2020
SONESTA GWINNETT PLACE ATLANTA
The Latin American Association and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are presenting the state’s first-ever Latino Prosperity and Policy Conference in 2020. This marks the first time that these two major Latino-serving organizations collaborate at this level.
Georgia’s Hispanic population has surpassed 1 million, and the state relies more and more on this critical demographic to keep its competitive edge. This conference highlights the increasingly important role that Hispanic workers and entrepreneurs play in Georgia’s economic success story. With the Latino population expected to continue growing over the next few decades, it’s imperative that the public and private sectors leverage the strengths of this vital workforce.
The conference will bring together policymakers, business owners, education experts, nonprofit leaders and other stakeholders to discuss win-win solutions for closing the gap between the labor supply and demand, while creating wealth and prosperity for a population that continues to lag its peers in key socioeconomic indicators.
The mission of the Latin American Association (LAA) is to empower Latinos to adapt, integrate, and thrive.
The LAA achieves its mission through five focus areas: Youth Education, Economic Empowerment, Immigration, Family Well-Being, and Culture & Engagement.
Each focus area includes direct services, large-scale events, and advocacy to realize significant community impact and affect systems-level change. The LAA services over 40,000 individuals each year through direct services and events and impacts tens of thousands more through advocacy.
The LAA is the most comprehensive bilingual organization in the southeast dedicated to the needs of the Latino community and is the leading voice representing Latino issues. Our 47-year history and community-based mission render the organization truly unique in its works and capabilities.
The LAA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and donations are 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
