Ivan Shammas is General Manager & General Sales Manager for Telemundo Atlanta, a premier Spanish-language media company providing award-winning local news and programming to the expansive Latino population in Atlanta. His experience and passion for the Hispanic market continue to drive his involvement in the community through various organizations. Shammas serves as Chair Elect on the Board of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, one of the largest Hispanic Chambers in the nation. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Greater Atlanta. Over the past years, Shammas has served as Chair of the United Way’s Young Professional Leaders Advisory Board and as Chair of GALEO (Georgia Association for Latino Elected Officials) Leadership Council (GLC) overseeing 6 community outreach committees. Shammas is a proud graduate of the 2018 Cultivating Hispanic Leadership Institute -a collaboration between the University of Georgia and the GHCC. He is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta 2015 and alumni of the GALEO Institute of Leadership. Past recognitions include the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s and Georgia Trend Magazines 40 Under 40 awards. Being of Venezuelan decent, Shammas grew up in Atlanta and currently resides in Brookhaven with his wife and 3 children.
