Socorro Rodríguez serves as the Credit and Collections Manager at Georgia Power. Georgia Power serves 2.25 million customers and is the largest of the four electric utility companies that make up Southern Company. She is responsible for leading the company's overall collection efforts, preventing revenue loss, and removing customers from the delinquent list.


Socorro began her career at Georgia Power in 2005 and has held various roles across the region in Customer Operations, Customer Service, and Regional External Affairs. Prior to her current position as manager, she was the LaGrange Area Manager in Regional External Affairs. She worked with local and state leaders to promote community and economic development in Troup, Meriwether, Harris, and Talbot counties.

Socorro has graduated from various leadership programs, including the Hispanic Leadership Cultivation Institute (CHLI), Leadership Troup, and the Georgia Economic Development Academy. She is also the proud recipient of the EME Latina Corporate Leader Award.


In addition to serving as the President-Elect of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and advising the CHLI program, Socorro was a board member of the Meriwether County Chamber of Commerce. She also participated in the LaGrange-Troup County Education Task Force and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.


Socorro is happily married to Lester. She is also the proud mother of two sons, Jason and Israel.
